Containment
Polyurethane has had wonderful success as a containment medium for chemical and petrochemical spills. In some cases a geotextile membrane is placed over a burm and polyurethane is sprayed over the top to a given thickness to form a secondary containment area. Polyurethane can protect against many chemicals including gasoline, acid, diesel fuel and many petrochemical condensates. Because of its elongation capabilities it will expand and contract with the substrate through heating and cooling cycles.
